KAT VON D MAKEUP FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Sephora has been killing it with new products and brands as of late. The one that I was excited the most is the Kat Von D makeup range. For years, I have been eyeing the Lock It Tattoo range with foundation and concealer which was one of the best and most full coverage foundation probably 4 years ago. It covers pretty much everything from tattoo, scars, acne. Problem is I could not get a hold of the foundation anywhere! Fast forward to this day, Kat Von D expanded her makeup range and came out with a lot of amazing products!

I've seriously stocked my car with emergency makeup kit just incase I have to go somewhere fancy straight after work! 

THE FACE | In-depth Impression on MILANI Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation

Full coverage foundation is my ultimate go-to. It does not matter what season it is; I have to have my full coverage base. One is to conceal all my imperfection (mainly acne scars) and two I think it creates a flawless base for other products to go on top. For reference, my skin type is oily / acne-prone with enlarged pores. Since I do a 7-4 job on the daily, I need something that will last me all day without needing to touch up in between. If you have been a long time reader of mine, you would know how much I love my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, which has been with me through and through. I went swimming with it on, did a fitness routine, played outdoor tennis, and of course worked in a hot steamy kitchen! It works perfectly and I only have to blot once the entire day! Fast forward to now, I need something that is in my budget range that will work just as great as my holy grail foundation! (Also I can't keep spending $70 on foundation every 2months!) 

It is the perfect excuse for me to hunt for a new affordable foundation!

SKINCARE ESSENTIALS | WINTER EDIT 2016

My skin care routine has definitely changed over the years. I constantly try and discover products that is well suited for my skin type. For reference, my skin type is oily / acne prone and can get quite sensitive. Through out the years, I found that my skin reacts better with gentle products with less harsh chemicals, or products that are well suited for baby skin. 

Current Favourites | Going Dewy for Spring!

For everyday wear, I like to spice up things and rotate in between products that works great depending on how my skin is behaving. At the moment, I have been into "less is more" look with a bit of glow than my usual matte look. I do have oily skin, but I kind of like to keep a little dew on the right places. 

THE FACE: Everyday Brown Lips

I used to be an avid lover of pink lips all year round. Overtime I've grown out of it and have been embracing a more neutral look with hints of color here and there. My everyday face is usually composed of the same products except for foundation which I like to switch from time to time depending on how my skin is doing.

Beauty Grab: REN Active 7 Eye Gel

The third eye cream I featured on Meet Mariee and the one that beats them all! I used to talk highly about the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil eye cream which I still love until I found a great alternative! I first heard about REN skincare through reading UK based blogs. This skincare line seems so big in UK that almost everyone raves about this brand. Luckily,Mecca Cosmetica stocks REN skincare so I went to have a browse.

LONG DAY SURVIVAL KIT

I have experienced having intensely oily face, chapped lips, and flat phone battery before. Trust me, it is not the best thing at all! I learned the hard way, and brought things that I definitely need to get me through the day especially when doing a 12 hour shift! Exhausting I know, but you have to do what you have to do to look decent and not haggard looking to survive such a long day may it be at work or an eventful day.

I'm proud to say that I haven't been on a makeup spree shopping lately. I realized that there's no point to hoard more products if I still have tons of stuff hiding away in my makeup storage. So I decided to shop my stash instead, found my most loved makeup products and started using it again!

My skincare routine has tremendously changed over the past year or so. I remember posting about my skincare routine consisting of gazillion products and I found that it irritated my skin even more. Due to different harsh ingredients on top of each other as well as the abrasive rubbing and scrubbing of my face.

Finally a full on makeup bag from Lust Have It! I have been waiting for this to happen for a year now and thank goodness it's here! From foundation, lipliner, concealer, and eyeliner that's a whole face already! 

WINTER FASHION INSPIRATION

Winter is just around the corner down in southern hemisphere and it is about time to bring out big coats, knitwear's, and booties. Back in the days I did not really care about how I look every winter season. As long as I can keep myself warm and bundled I'm all good. I used to live in thin long sleeves and puffy jackets until I discovered ways to put together a nice outfit and still look warm and cozy at the same time. Over the years, I've slowly converted myself into wearing black and white. For me, it is classic and never goes out of style. It also gives me a challenge to be creative, so it does not look boring and outdated.

THREE IN ONE BASE

I have been on a minimal makeup kick lately. It has something to do with waking up at 5 in the morning and try to do quick makeup within10 minutes! The struggle is real! Thank goodness to makeup innovations for coming up with a base that contains everything you could possibly need for everyday wear.

I have not done this in awhile mainly because I have just been rotating between work and home. The weather has been bad and that made me even lazier to get out and do stuff. Anyway end of November and start of December were pretty eventful. I had work Christmas dinner at The Pines which was heaps of fun and the view of the place was absolutely breathtaking.
