THE FACE: Nude lipsticks besides Velvet Teddy

I have featured Velvet Teddy multiple times and it is by far the best nude lipstick that I own! I love the way it looks on my skin tone, it conceals the darkness around my lip line and gives me "my lips but better" shade.

Who doesn't love a good bold lip and winged liner? Simple yet a good statement look for winter. When picking a good bold lipstick, I pick the one that has blue undertone. It helps with making my teeth appear a lot whiter. It also complements my skin tone best as supposed to a warmer shade.

HANG-UP WITH ME THIS WINTER

Dark lips is growing in me, and it feels pretty good knowing that I've slowly come out of my safe zone.  MAC Cosmetics has the best range of lipsticks and there is definitely color for everyone! I myself have been obsessing over dark berry shades, brick reds, and browns / mauve. It suits my skin tone the best and it makes my teeth appear whiter.

Maybelline New York is on fire with coming out of new products these days! Unfortunately, we in New Zealand get them last because of geographic reasons (perks of being down under). I was extremely excited about the Color Drama lip pencils to arrive. It was the talk among UK bloggers and youtubers I follow for a hot minute, so of course I have to get it! 

Classic Red in a Gold Tube

Back when I first started playing with makeup, I used to hate red lipsticks! For me it looks outdated and too mature for my liking. I know for a fact that quite a few beauty junkies (both young and mature) rock red lipstick and it looks great on them but not for me. However, that changed when I was getting more into makeup and beauty. Red is such a classic color for woman of any age to rock. It shouts empowerment and confidence. A little intimidating at first but once you find the 'perfect shade', it is everything!

LIP WEEK: Essence Long Lasting Lipstick

Lipstick is definitely one of my weakness when it comes to makeup aside from face powders. If I could recommend few makeup products that is worth investing on, it would be foundation and lipstick! 

LIP WEEK: Touch of Purple

When it comes to lipstick, purple is something I don't go for often. The color is too bold and too barbie-ish for my liking. I'm sure it looks great on others, but for me I like to stay within nudes and beige pinks. Somehow I have a few that's floating in my makeup stash and I thought I would give them a try. 

LIP WEEK: SUMMER PINK FLINGS

Pink is such a universal color and there's a ton of different shades that would suit different skin tone. I have posted my favorite pink lipsticks in the past and they are more winter appropriate for my liking. I love a good bold lips but for summer, I'd rather rock a tint or a pinky nude lip which I think looks more flattering.

Beauty Grab: Max Factor Colour Elixir Giant Pen Stick

Max Factor is a brand that I don't gravitate towards, because it feels like their products is leaning towards mature skin. The one product that I have tried from the brand years ago was their mascara. The brand makes one of the best drugstore mascaras out there. Their formula is so good and it lives up to the product claims (volume, length, both). It is almost comparable to Maybeline mascaras only a tad expensive for it being a drugstore. The one hit product they came out recently is Skin Luminizer Foundation where everyone is going gaga for. 

if I could pick my top 3 MAC lipsticks

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that MAC Cosmetics has the best range of lipsticks out there. They have six or more different lipstick finish and a billion colors you can choose from. (crazy I know!). However, going to MAC store without an idea of what to purchase can be a torture. The array of colors and products can get a little overwhelming which makes it harder to choose. If you are beauty junkie, one MAC lipstick is not enough so you tend to slowly buy every color in every finish that you like. And let's be honest! You're never going to use all of it except for maybe one or two. Don't get me wrong, I'm guilty for hoarding MAC lipsticks because they're so good but never got around to using all of them. 

Five Pink Lipsticks for October

As we are all know, October is Breast Cancer awareness month where women all over the world celebrate it by wearing pink to support those brave women who have/had cancer. Since I didn't get to participate on that, thought I would show you five pink lipsticks that I love. Although the shades that I picked looks similar swatched, it totally changes when it is applied on the lips depending on your skin tone.

BRINGING BACK THE 90's

Brown nude lips is so HOT right now! Thanks to Kylie Jenner for bringing back the 90's look - brown lips, winged liner, lashes kind of thing. It is all over Instagram and Youtube, and it is contagious enough that I have to share what I have laying around.

Winter season is all about bold colors and matte lips, based on what I know at least. But for me, pop of color is always our savior when we are feeling  a bit dull or lazy. It can always pull a look together whatever season it may be.
