What's In My Travel Makeup Bag?

Two weeks ago, I did an unplanned trip back to Philippines for funeral. It was a good as I haven't been home for the longest time, bad because of the reason why I decided to finally go back to visit. I find packing makeup products challenging! As much as I wanted to bring all my favorite ones on board, I have to also think of products that has double purpose since it was only a ten day trip.

FACE PRODUCTS: Originally I was planning to bring along my ever trusted full coverage / long lasting Double Wear Foundation from Estee Lauder. But I figured, I might have to swap it with a BB cream which has multiple purpose - protect my face with its SPF 30, moisturize, coverage to even out my skin tone. Behold my favorite base, Super BB Cream from Chi Chi Cosmetics. I got the shade tanned and it matches my skin tone perfectly. It definitely stopped my face from getting burned and also did a great job on staying after 8 long hours. Since I will be sweating hot, a good primer is a must! HOURGLASS Mineral Veil Primer is my holy grail. It makes anything on top waterproof, not only that! It also evens out my skin tone and blur out my enlarged pores. Maybelline Age Rewind concealer is by far the best drugstore concealer for dark circle. It is lightweight, but does a great job on covering and brightening the under eye area. I never thought I would make so much use out of the Australis AC ON TOUR Contouring & Highlighting Kit on this trip! Ofcourse contouring & highlighting is involved but I also used this kit as my go to eyeshadow for days I'm feeling matte. It's such a versatile palette! My only complaint is I wish it did come with a mirror. Setting my face is a must to keep my oils at bay. I reverted back to Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder. It blurs out my pores as well as keep me matte for a good 5 hour mark. To lock everything in place and for makeup refresher, MAC Fix Plus does it all! I also use this before primer for extra hydration.

EYE PRODUCTS: BH Cosmetics Forever Nude Palette is such a great travel friendly palette! It comes with 6 rosy toned eyeshadows, a highlighter, 2 lip pans, and 2 highlighting blush! It has also a big mirror which became very useful during my entire trip. If you've been a long time reader of mine, you all know that lashes is a necessity for me. The Essence Lashmania Reloaded Mascara is amazing in giving me that false lashes look. Since it is not waterproof and tends to go flakey after a couple of hours, I usually apply the Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara in waterproof to seal everything together. That way my eyelash curls are held into place, and my lashes were nicely coated and fluffy through out the day. An extra step I've been loving is applying a nude liner in my waterline. For this, I use the NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte

LIP PRODUCTS: Me being a lip junkie, I was surprised that I only brought three lip products with me! I did keep in mind that if I take more, it might end up melting and would be sad about it for awhile. LOL. Anyways, I opted for nude lips because you can pair it with any makeup look! Ofcourse I had to bring my new favorite combo - Essence Lipliner in Honey Bun and MAC Velvet Teddy. For lazy days, Maybelline's Baby Lips Electro Pop lip balm was my go-to. It moisturized my lips as well as gave me a nice berry tint, to avoid looking dull and sickly. To make my eyes pop even further, I rocked my usual winged liner. To achieve that, I used the Collection Liquid Liner in brown for a more natural look.

MAKEUP TOOLS: One very useful tool during this trip was my clean hands! It makes any application quick and easy, but of course make sure it is kept clean. Seriously, I can get away with only bringing four brushes, but I figured I need backups incase it gets dirty. Any girl needs to have a fluffy powder brush for setting the makeup or doing touch ups. A good bronzer brush which can also double as blush brush which is helpful in putting back color in my face. For eye makeup application, I would say a flat shader brush is a must to apply highlight in brow bone area, inner corner, and light eyeshadow all over the lid. A good blending brush to blend transition color and dark shadow along the outer v, and of course a crease brush for some eye contouring!

Thanks for stopping by!

xx

Choosing what to bring when I'm travelling is so hard. It takes up a lot of weight in my luggage! :)) I'll take your advice next time and try to bring double purpose items! :)

Packing always gives me anxiety. I want to pack light but then again I don't want to forget something! It's always a struggle. But yeah multi purpose products works great as you can use it in so many ways.:))
