After so many months of ignoring this brand, I finally gave in! Chi Chi Cosmetics is an Australian brand available to both Australia and New Zealand. It is one of those drugstore brands that is underrated and never talked about, up until recently.
Shaaanxo actually did a Chi Chi haul where I found out about few good products the brand carries. She did a review awhile ago on the new Chi Chi Fabulous & Flawless Foundation and I also saw her use one of the Chi Chi Mosaic Blush in her GRWM videos (which I enjoy watching!). So, I decided to purchase a blush and foundation to see if it is any good to my greasy skin. I must say Chi Chi cosmetics has one of the best packaging in drugstore, well at least in New Zealand. The price point is very affordable, and the quality is almost as good as of the high end products.
Starting off with the Fabulous & Flawless Foundation. The description from the website claims that this foundation gives:
Flawless Face
Ultra-lightweight with medium coverage. Long wearing and smudge-proof stain power
Fabulous Formula
Super moisturising and hydrating. Antioxidant Vitamin Enriched
The color range is impressive as it caters to all skin tones ranging from pink, yellow, to golden undertones. This rarely happens especially for a drugstore foundation. The shade goes from 1-10, and to check out other shades click here. My shade is 8 (Medium Olive), for reference I'm NC40-42 in MAC ProLongWear. Originally, I thought I'm going to be in between shade 9 and 10 but as it oxidize, it turns a bit orange which we all want to avoid. I love how the glass bottle came with a pump which is a big plus for hygiene reasons. I have worn this foundation twice and I must say that the coverage is medium but can be build up to full coverage. The finish is not too dewy, not too matte and light weight. In terms of the staying power, I would say 3-4 hours. If you have a very oily skin like me, then you probably have to set it with a powder and do more touch-ups through out the day.
The second product is the Mosaic Blush in Pink Peach, which I reckon a dupe for CLARINS Illuminating Blush. It is very pigmented and buttery feel. I haven't worn this blush yet, so I can't say how it wears. But based on the swatch, this will be a good blush/highlight on natural makeup days. The packaging is gorgeous, sophisticated, and expensive looking. It comes on a shiny silver compact which you can use as a mirror without having to open it. I also love the gold accent with the brand name.
Have you tried any Chi Chi Cosmetics? If so, what is your favorite?
xx
