A trip to the department store is not always disappointing. The main purpose of my trip was to stock up on my skincare products and get more dry shampoo, but the makeup isle gets you every time! Normally highlighter is not my thing, but recently I have been loving that subtle glow compared to just flat out matte look. It gives you that natural healthy glow, now that we are coming into summer.
I have been dying to try 'soft & gentle' from MAC as it is the most talked highlighter of all time but can never get my hands on them. So, when I was at Farmers, I saw this beautiful highlighter from Essence and it reminded me of 'soft & gentle'. It is one of the products from line called Ticket To Paradise which I believe is part of their holiday collection, and it comes with two cream eyeshadows, nail polish, eyeliner, and shimmer powder. The Essence shimmer powder retails for $7.90 NZD, which is insanely affordable and I got the shade 'tropical heat'! Let's pause for a moment and admire the embossed pattern on the powder. It is very tropical! Makes me excited for warmer weather. And if you're only looking at this powder without knowing what brand its from, you won't even think that it only cost less than $10! Such a steal!
My FAIL swatch of the highlighter! It blends in so well with my skin tone that it is kind of hard to tell. The pigmentation is pretty descent, and it is not very powdery or buttery either. I like how you can build up the color without it being too over the top! It leaves a nice gold sheen into the skin and to my surprise, there is no chunks of glitter what so ever!
Overall, I really like this highlighter, and for the price you can never go wrong! It is one of those underrated products that performs just as good as any high end products!
