THE FACE | OILY / ACNE PRONE SKIN MOISTURISERS

Moisturisers are key to have the best skin you can possibly have. Not only it will nourish the skin but also slow down ageing and giving back the hydration that the skin needs in order to function. I'm not claiming to know everything nor being a professional aesthetician but I've learned a whole lot of things in the search for the moisturiser that works best for my oily / acne prone skin.
Personally, I'm a fan of multi function products that can do a wide range of things. It took me awhile to find the products that works tremendously in my skin. Of course it won't be permanent but whatever works now I'll take it!

Loreal Skin Perfection Correcting Day Moisturiser - About 4 years ago, I heard about this range from Nicole Guerriero before the range was available to purchase in New Zealand a year after. Back then, my skin was extremely textured, cystic acne everywhere, and very dull. I used the moisturiser in conjunction with the Skin Perfection Correcting Serum and it took about 2 weeks to see massive results. Though my skin was not fully clear of acne, the texture disappeared, my pores were invisible, my skin feels supple, healthy and it was the best day of my life! My makeup looked smoother, I gained confidence in sporting bare face. Ever since then I make sure I always have this moisturiser or the serum in rotation with my skincare routine. It feels very lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. It works great for my oily skin as it is of gel consistency and overall just a great moisturiser. I see a huge difference whenever I don't use this moisturiser. Highly recommend for my oily skin girls or even if you have dry skin!

Cetaphil Moisturising Cream - Classic favourite moisturiser! If you suffer from acne and is currently using acne treatments, this is a great moisturiser to have. It is non-comedogenic, rich in moisture but not greasy, gentle on the skin. Though, I have oily skin I like to use the intensive moisturising cream especially on winter time as it helps moisturise the dry patches from acne treatment and dehydrated skin. It does not irritate and it quickly absorbs into the skin. Another use I find for this is eye cream which is a one stop shop if you're not into too many products.

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream - Magic in a tub! Composed of all natural ingredients such as olive oil, beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, bee propolis. I never thought that the hype is actually true until I tried it myself. If you are looking for a good moisturiser / eye cream / lip balm / hair mask, this is it! I once tried and use it as a spot treatment for my horrible cystic acne, after a 2 days the cyst went down and it healed within a week! I was literally in shock since oils can sometimes clog pores but not this cream! I use it as face mask, eye cream, and lip balm on everyday basis. This is my go to if my skin is breaking out as it helps calm my skin as well as heal it at the same time. I don't know how it does it but for sure worth a try! If it does not work on specific issue you want for it to work, you can easily find other uses for this all purpose cream and that's why I love it!

SPF Daytime Moisturiser - Now this is a definite must have in anyone's skin care routine! I was guilty of not applying sunscreen before heading out before but I learned the hard way. We only have one face so take good care of it and there is no turning back. One major reason why you need to hop on board on the SPF train is, it prevents premature aging and wrinkles which we all want to avoid at some stage in life! There is so many products out in the market, so find whatever works for your skin type.

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. I've heard about the Egyptian Magic Cream before but never had a chance to try it. I might have to track it down!

  2. I was so hesitant at first because there are so many mixed reviews! But the product is entirely up to your judgement. The price a little steep but there are so many ways you can use the Egyptian Magic so I guess it makes it reasonable to purchase. Let me know what you think once you've tried the product ;)
