Winter season is definitely taking a toll on me. My skin misbehaves like no other, dry patches everywhere, cold sores in my hands, dry ends, chapped lips- you name it all! My main concern is my dry hands and lips. For the past week, I've been on a hunt for products that will miraculously work wonders. Upon browsing through numerous pharmacies and department stores, I stumbled upon products that I would never thought in a million years to fall in love with. These products are awesome and I'm surprised that no one have mentioned or talked about it online.
Over washing your hair under warm/cold water can lead to very dry, unruly, frizzy hair especially on winter time. Our natural oils that brings moisture to our hair are being stripped off therefore it causes damage and brittleness to the hair. I have tried not washing my hair for about a week and I notice a huge difference! My hair grew faster, and my scalp produces more oilThanks to dry shampoos for a quick hair refreshment! I've been using BATISTE dry shampoo for years but I think I may have found the dry shampoo that works the same if not even better! It is the VO5 Refresh Me Quick Dry Shampoo which I purchased from Countdown (one of New Zealand's supermarket), and retails for $10 NZD. I could be wrong but I'm sure it does not cost more than that. I love the florally scent to it and the best part is, it sprays clear onto your roots which is a major plus! Not a fan of white residue on the roots. It definitely does the job and does not leave your hair feeling greasy after a couple of use.
In my new job excessive washing of hands is involve and it tends to dry your hands. I have been looking for a good hand moisturizer that will effectively soothe the dryness of my hands. I got a sample of Kiehl's Ultimate Hand Salve awhile ago and I really like it. Reading through the description, it says that its great for active hands. The texture is thick but not greasy and it also leaves a minty feel in your hands. However if you suffer from dry cuticles, you might need to apply an oil on top of this moisturizer.
For chapped lips, there are a lot of lip balms that works best without having to splurge. But from time to time I like to spend a bit to purchase products that I know I will use the heck out of. I used to use the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream which I love until the day came where I could not find it anywhere! So I was left with using petroleum jelly to moisturize my lips but I find it very high maintenance. I find myself reapplying every hour or so and sometimes I go with chapped lips on a busy day. It looks horrible and painful! I paid a visit to CLARINS counter to purchase the smooth operator primer, then I saw this! Ever since then, I have been loving this lip balm and it never left my purse. It is the CLARINS Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm. It is pricy but I think it's definitely worth it! You only need a tiny bit to cover your lips. The texture is very waxy as the name says, thick consistency and it lasts for 4 hours! Leaving not only your lips moisturized but glossy!
What are your current product saviors?
