Napoleon Perdis Contour & Highlight Kit

Early this year, I purchased my first ever Napoleon Perdis makeup product. This is a makeup brand by the ever famous Australian makeup artist Napoleon Perdis who's makeup is now sold internationally! I have seen and known about this brand for quite sometime but never had a chance to purchase anything. Since I'm starting to learn more about contouring and highlighting, I found that this product is a perfect introductory product to try from the brand. This is the limited edition highlight and contouring kit. I purchased this product for $130NZD (it was over 4months when I got this product so I'm not sure about the exact retail price).

The packaging that it came with is very sleek and fancy looking. It also comes with two travel size brushes - Highlight brush, and Contour brush. The highlight brush is a bit stiff and very flat to use for highlight application. I feel like it will smudge the foundation/powder that you already have because of the short stiff bristles. On the other note, I love the shape of the contour brush! It is dome shaped and tapered so you can have a precise contour application. I feel like you can also use the brush to apply powder foundation to get that full coverage/ airbrushed finish.

For the palette, the highlight shade is white so i'm not sure how it will look as a cheek highlight! It probably can work as an eyeshadow base. Also if you use it under your eyes, it may not look very flattering in flash photos and will produce a white cast! I've only worn it once so I can't give a full review yet. However the contour shade is quite interesting! It looks very warm, but when applied to skin, it gives a hint of red undertone but not overly visible. It is not overly pigmented, so you can have great control of how much product you pick up with the brush. But I'd say thumbs down for the shades. It will clearly not work for all skin tones. However, the contour brush is great and probably the only reason why I even purchase this kit!

Overall, I'd say if you want to be a bit spendy go and purchase this product for the brushes! But if you are one who's looking for a great contour product, I would stay away from this! There are so many good contour and highlight products out in the market which works great, be it high end or drugstore!

Thanks for stopping by!
