I'm back again after awhile of being MIA. I have been on the go lately and barely had time to update and do all creative stuff. Reality is, I sometimes find it a bit challenging to work between my real job and blogging. Anyway, makeup brushes are good investments
when indulging in beauty products. It makes any application 100 times better and mess free. Of course there's your magic fingers which are free but then it tends to get all over the place! The truth is, you don't have to own gazillion brushes to achieve a look. As long as you have the basic tools that can multi-task, you're all set. Here are my top picks:
THE FACE - For me base is most important when it comes to makeup. Real Techniques hands down has the best drugstore makeup brushes out there and they are also easy to wash and dry. They are very affordable and the quality is just beyond amazing! For my foundation application, I love using the Expert Face Brush! It blends the foundation flawlessly and I also like to use this to buff out my concealer. To dust the powder all over the face, I use the big Powder Brush. The texture is very soft and fluffy when touched into the skin. It gives an airbrush finish and does not cake the foundation underneath. For light base, I also like to use this brush to buff out my powder foundation. It gives an even and light coverage. For bronzer, blush, highlight application, I use the Blush Brush. The tapered shape fits perfectly in the hallows of your cheek and the temples of the face. You can pinch it to fit the sides of your nose or use the tip in applying the highlight. Over all I'm obsessed with this brush!
THE EYES - Eyeshadow application can be a bit intimidating and overwhelming. But hey, all you need is a couple of eye brushes for blending and I believe anyone can do it! My top 3 would be my ELF Shading Brush for packing the color all over my lid or for brow bone highlight. I swear there is something about this brush that makes any eyeshadow look great! The only problem I have is the shedding but other than that, it does the job and it's only $2! For blending, I like to switch it up between the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush or Sedona Lace EB15. Both can be used in precise crease application or to blend harsh lines. I have learned this the hard way, but the success to achieving a great eye look is layering and lots of blending!
All the products I use can be find found in drugstore or online and are under $10. I purchased my Real Techniques and ELF brushes from www.iherb.com. Use the code DBG049 to get $10 off your purchase!
What are your favorite makeup brushes?
Thanks for stopping by!
