Sample Bar Unboxing (Jan- Feb) 2013

Hello everyone! As we all know monthly subscription has been the new trend lately. It is best for getting your money's worth and also to discover new products that are or going to be out in the market. In New Zealand, we finally have come out with a monthly subscription dedicated to beauty and makeup products called Sample Bar. It is an online subscription where you pay $25 NZD for 5 or sometimes 6 different surprise samples delivered free on you doorstep. It is very comparable to Birchbox, Ipsy glam bag, Lush It, etc. What's even good is that you can purchase any product in full size at their Glam Store! For more detailed information on how it works, you can check it right here

I got my first box exactly on the first month of 2013. I signed for it last year around October. Although it took awhile for me to get approved, I feel like its all worth it. So for this post, I combined the boxes from January to February (better late than never!). What I like about Sample Bar is that every month they would have a theme with the products associated with it.

First of all the packaging is great and sleek! The box can actually be recycled and used as a storage, display, or act as a divider storage in drawers.

Here is what I got for the month of January.

top left to right: Le Tan coconut lotion (full size) ; Steamcream (full size) ; Air Repair's eye cream ( full size) ; elastic hair tie : eye makeup remover bud ( sample size)

I really enjoyed the January box as most of it are useful and I have been enjoying the Le Tan coconut lotion with spf 30. January is summer time and the hottest month of the season, I feel like this sunscreen is very handy and it smells good too! However I didn't really like the eye cream because my skin is very sensitive sand it gave me rash under my eye so I have to stop using it!

For the month of February, the tissue wrapping came in a bright pink which I guess resembles to what we call "Love Month".

February box is nothing special really except maybe for the Model Co. lipgloss which is what I needed! I was rooting for more makeup or perfume samples than skin care as I have a very sensitive skin and I cannot just put random skin care in my face else I would breakout! I have tried the toothpaste, and it tasted awful but works wonder! It gives you a refreshing breathe without a distinct orange smell.

Overall, both boxes are great and it actually gives you more than you're money's worth. I would't say its great but it's okay but I am looking forward for them to throw any new makeup or hair product.

Hope you like this post and till next time.
