I have been MIA for these past few months and I apologize for not updating as much. Today marks the last day of my study break before I go back to uni, so I thought it would be great to post something nice :)
Spring time is calling for all of you who lives in Southern Hemisphere! This season calls for colors, patterns, and vibrance. It is the best time of the year where you can dress up and down without having to worry about tons of layering to keep yourself warm. In fashion, neon and pastel colors are in this season but that does not mean it can't be incorporated in the interior as well. Winter season is over and its time to get rid of thick throws, thermal curtains, dark decors at home which will make your house feel washed and depressing. In this project, you don't have to spend a lot of money in redecorating your home to season. This puts your creativity to test and will save you heaps of money wisely.
Here are some tips on how to give your home a new cozy and colorful look:
1.) First thing you need to do is to pick a theme and color scheme based to your liking. For example, if you want to have a clean minimalism look, make sure to pick light and flowy fabric for curtains to have the feeling of freshness into the room. Pick a colored item to act as a focal point of the room, it could be a vibrant painting or a piece of furniture. It is also important to find that balance between the user and the function of the interior.
2.) Go for the basic colors like gray, white, and brown on furnitures and wall color. This way it is easy to mix and match your interior without having to spend so much money, just by adding decors that goes with the season.
3.) If you have old pieces of cloths, wallpaper, jars, baskets, frames, reuse them by giving them a makeover. It is always good to bring new things into the interior without having to spend dollars to achieve a great look! Visit flea markets more often to find some things that you can refurbish.
Paint old baskets with pastel colors and use old plates as canvas and hang them in your wall.
Buy cheap cloth with playful pattern and light colors. Don't be afraid to experiment in combining colors! This will give your interior a modern and chic look!
Repaint your old vase and mason jars.
Use your old clothes, cloth in making a new pillowcase. If you want to add pattern or change the color, use a fabric dye or apply the patching technique.
Excess wallpaper can still be used as a framed artwork in the living room/ kitchen area.
4.) Flower arrangements are good to have at home. I'm a sucker for this but instead of flowers I use branches and paint them either gold or wrap them with crepe paper. This makes the interior look fresh with scent of nature. Don't be a suck up on basic flower arrangement, boost your confidence and get creative!

5.) Candles are beatuiful addition to home. Candles come in different colors, scents, and forms. I used to be so addicted in collecting candles that you see it everywhere in my flat. I like it because it not only gives dimension to the room, but also produces fragrance. It is also good in emergency purposes (i.e. power cut, black out).
NOTE:Be careful of the placements of candle in a home if you have pets and small children.
There you have it! I hope these tips can help you in redecorating your home and ready for spring! Thanks for reading!
