GUY FAWKES

November 5- Guy Fawkes Day. It is an annual celebration of bonfire night and fireworks night primarily in England. But in New Zealand we sometimes celebrate it in the weekends or depending if the weather permits. It's my first time in two years of being back to New Zealand to watch the fireworks display.

I had such a bad memory every Guy Fawkes and it was awful. Back in 2006, me, my brother and best friends went to watch the fireworks display. We arrived there a bit early so we got to sit by the beach and watch it. After the display was over, people from all over the place were lighting fireworks without even considering that there's still people close to them. I think it was two teenage girls lit the rocket thing and it went straight through my brother's face! We panicked and totally forgot about who did it, ran to the bathroom to wash it with cold water and just my luck I have petroleum jelly with me! I got so scared that maybe my brother will get blinded forever or will have a bad scar on his face. My mum found out about it and we went to emergency straight away! It was second degree burn and is only cm away from his eyes which is very lucky. From then on, every November I always remember that incident which prohibits me to enjoy the display.

My three loves! Jack, Angela, Ysa
If its not because of these three, I won't watch the display. LOL

  1. Wow that's a very traumatic incident! At least your brother's safe and that you get to enjoy how the day's supposed to be :) Let me tell you those firework shots are AMAZING! <3 How did you do that? Did you use a DSLR or just a digicam?

Your posts are very interesting Camie! I love reading them. Keep em coming!
